For Someone I Love... The Joker...

Here I stand, counting the minutes
1,2,3
I like to feel their pulse, racing through me
You might think it crude, even quite rude- but, I enjoy killing
Like sex you see, only I'm always in the mood

They look at me, I look at them
I am the fox, they are the hen
When I go in, to grab a little lunch
All they do- is scream and punch

'Oh let go, Oh let go!' they yell, my only reply is,
'I'll see you in hell,'
and when I begin to strangle and choke
I look down at the poor old bloke and say;
'I bid you good evening, I bid you goodbye.'
I looked at those, who were reading the poem, and grinned,
'Surely, there's nothing left to do, but now that they're gone...
I'll have to kill you, too.'

To All Intelligent Cine Goers 1.1

Movie :: Wristcutters - A Love Story.
Starring :: Patrick Fugit, Shannyn Sossamon, Shea Whigham, Will Arnett, Leslie Bibb
Directed by :: Goran Dukic (II)
Produced by :: Jonathan Schwartz (II), Tatiana Kelly, Chris Coen

Its been almost a year since my last post. Sorry for that. Will try and be more regular over here.

The movie we are going to be looking today is Wristcutters - A Love Story.
When I downloaded this one, it was purely cause of its name. The first impression i got was that there will be a lot of blood. A lot of blood, that was all i wanted to see.
It was done. At around midnight i set up my personal home-theater(my Dell and headphones).

Movie starts very slowly, with a guy laying on his bed, in a messy room. Thinking some thing.
Scene changes. There are no more doubts on his mind.
He gets up. Looks around in his messy room. Takes a calm breath. One by one, he arranges every thing in his room the clean way.

Scene changes, he goes in his bathroom. Looks himself in the mirror. Holds out a blade. Cuts his wrist. Slowly falls on the floor. Slowly starting to soak in his own blood. Slowly his eyes closes.

I was thinking what was going on. The idea that he was committing suicide was clear.

Now begins the interesting part!

Scene changes. He wakes up. He has his normal daily activities going on. Hes working in a pizza parlor and things are fine...
I am puzzled now... What was going on, i had no clue at all!

After his work, this guy is sitting at a bar. A cute girl walks upto him, and asks a weird question.
"How did you off yourself?" she asked him.

Now i was about to think some thing i have missed. But no, things were unfolding brilliantly.
He shows her his wrists. He then asks her, how did she off herself. It goes in flashback and shows how she tried committing suicide.
I was still clueless as to what was going on!
These people are talking about this "Place" in general. The references are made again and again.
I smiled when it struck me. These people, who have tried and committed suicide were in hell.

Now, all of sudden, this guy finds out that the girl, cause of whom he had committed suicide had also later committed suicide, and was here, in the same place! He asks his pal to join him on the search...

The movie goes on real well. Very well made.
There are many bits in the story which gets you thinking!!!

Nice work...
It was some thing different to see...

Movie :: Batman Begins

Starring :: Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Katie Holmes, Gary Oldman

Directed by :: Christopher Nolan

Produced by :: Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Emma Thomas

Review ::

"Batman Begins", the movie is very rightfully named.

There have been many Batman installments released earlier, that too starring actors like George Colony, Val Kilmer, Michel Keton, and some more actors I dont even know!

I have seen all the installments before Batman Begins(BB). It wouldn't be incorrect to say that Batman Begins is the movie which does complete justice to Batman, the super-hero.

The best thing about The Batman is that he is a normal human being... Made of flesh-n-blood, just like you and me! He hasn't been beaten by any radio-active bug, nor was he introduced to the world of super-powers by any stupid near fatal scientific-experiment.
It was the incidents in his life, which made him fear, beyond expressible words. And it was the fear, which he wanted to over-come, by any means necessary.
Batman uses various technologies to do all the things which people see as his superpowers!

The movie rightfully captures all the things practically a first part of the classic needed to cover.
Like, what was it that made him fear the bats,
Like why he decides to save the city of Gotham,
Like how can he fly, how can he see in the dark, how can he hear things at long distances,
Like how do police of Gotham signal him,
What is his suit made of, how is his cave designed, what a real bat-mobile could do.....

The movie captures all this very brilliantly.
Director Christopher Nolan has proved his abilities again.
This movie could be defined as come back for actor Christian Bale, who is absolutely brilliant at his performance and dialogue deliveries & most importantly his style statement for Bruce Wayne.
The conversations between Bale and Liam Neeson make the best parts of the movie, and are worth watching time and again.

The saga continues with "The Black Knight" again starring Bale who will fight his arch-nemesis The Joker. The movie is scheduled for 2008 release.

Could hardly wait for it...

Before signing off, i would like to put one of the brilliant dialogues of the movie:
Batman: Its not who I am underneath,
Its what I do that defines me.

Movie :: 300

Starring :: Gerard Butler, Lena Headey, Michael Fassbender, Vincent Regan, Dominic West

Directed by :: Zack Snyder

Produced by :: Frank Miller

Review ::

What I managed to hear from somewhere was that this movie was shot in 60 days, and took 365 another days to add the special effects and finish the movie!

Yes, we are talking about "300", the movie, which is a must watch..
I dont remember watching such a nice climax since a while now. It was as real as possible.

The thing that I learned after watching the movie was, I will never again watch any movie trailers. The people in the west are no lesser Chus. 75% of the main movie dialogues are shown in the movie trailers which just killed the timing.
Also my experience was badly hampered by other people around me who had seen the promos and were uttering the dialogues every time!!! This could be pretty irritating...

Anyways, the movie was shot in the best possible manner. Of course, it could be made in a better way. (for details on this 1, people can contact me personally)

I will watch it again, thats the only thing I can say.

To All Intelligent Cine-Goers 1.7

Movie:: The Prestige
Starring:: Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Michael Caine, David Bowie, Scarlett Johansson
Directed by:: Christopher Nolan

Review::
"Are you watching closely"
These are the first words of the movie, and, believe me, they are very rightly put.

This is one of the best creations of director Christopher Nolan (others are Batman Begins, Insomnia, Memento and Following.) He is one of the best directors Hollywood has ever produced. He not only directs the plot brilliantly, but also manages to get the best out of his acting crew and also manages to excite his audience time and again.

The movie is based in 1970-80's when people used to be amazed by the tricks of magicians, and almost took them for saints.
The plot is set such that Hugh Jackman (The Great Danton) & Christian Bale (The Professor), in their early days are involved in presenting a trick which goes terribly wrong making them best of enemies for life. These blood-thirsty magicians find nothing but their tricks to out-cast each other. Each tries to cut the others trick and make a fool out of him, in a very barbaric manner, which again drives each one to develop a new trick.
It sounds pretty funny now, but, it isn't. They go to every extent possible to get on the one-another.

Some very interesting tochan dialogs, Nolan's USP, are screened very brilliantly.
The thirst of revenge drives them to unthinkable deeds, leading to the very best of climax.

The best thing is, IF you understand the climax properly, you will tell your self, "WTF! This was just in front of me!!! How could I have missed it?”

Interesting plot is screened showing a scientist named Tesla who is the competitor of Thomas Edison (yes, the dude who invented bulb.) If we go by the movie, it seems that Edison was really not that big of a dude. But, again, history is always written by the winners, which makes it one-sided. Let’s not get into this now.

On the whole, it’s a must-watch. One can definitely put this in the Nolan collection and watch any time.

Movie :: Eklavya- The Royal Guard.
Starring :: Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Saif-Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Jakie Shroff, Vidya Balan, Jimmy Shirgil.
Directed by :: Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Review::
I dont remember seeing a movie with soo many Film-Stars and then too having just 1 song!

I dont remember seeing a movie with soo many Film-Stars and then too such a short movie (< 2 hours!)

The movie is well made. The celebrities have acted brilliantly. In fact, there are many scenes of the movie which stand out exceptionally.

The movie drags a bit some times, but, the exceptional movements mange to shadow all the dragging.

On the whole, a must watch for a normal Bollywood movie follower.

Movie :: Ghost Rider
Starring :: Nicolas Cage, Wes Bentley, Eva Mendes, Matthew Long, Peter Fonda
Directed by :: Mark Steven Johnson

Review::

Sigh...
When I heard that Nic Cage, Eva Mendes are starring in a movie, which also has a cruiser bike (an American Chopper) in the central role, I was like, I wouldn't miss this movie for a thing.

I was wrong.

The movie was a bad piece of story, direction and an awe full waste of talent.
The Chopper was the best deal they offered in the movie. Its transformation from a normal cruiser bike to a great looking Ghost Theme chopper is just awesome.

In fact, every thing that The Ghost Rider uses, transforms into some thing very great... the bike, the horse, the shot-gun, the chain, the jacket... everything. ( I keep using THE since its all one of a kind once he touches it )

However, if it weren't for our group, with whom I went, and made uncountable jokes often during the movie, it would have been a pathetic experience.

So, people, to say the truth, go at your own risk. I will say no more.
